What Is the Route & What Are the Stops?
The bus starts its journey at Livada Poștei and completes a round trip in about an hour, returning to the same spot. Along the way, it makes stops at:
Piata Unirii
Dramatic
Primarie
Astra
Biserica Bartolomeu
Belvedere
Where to Buy Tickets & Where to Validate Them?
Getting tickets for the bus is easy! At the starting station (Livada Postei), you have several options:
Ticket Kiosk: Buy your ticket from the kiosk.
Ticket Vending Machine: Use the vending machine for quick purchase.
24pay App: Pay conveniently through the 24pay app.
If you have a physical ticket, remember to validate it on the bus using the onboard ticket validators. If you bought your ticket via the 24pay app, there’s no need for additional validation—just have your QR code ready in case it’s needed.
You can take photos all along the route, of course. However, our top 3 favorite spots for capturing the best shots are:
The Black Church
The Main Square
The Belvedere Point
The best among these is the Belvedere stop. From here, you can enjoy a bird’s-eye view of Old Town—it’s truly an amazing viewpoint. And unlike the other two spots, the bus is stationary here, giving you 5-10 minutes to snap as many photos as you like.
Our Own Experience With the Brașov Hop-on Hop-off Sightseeing Bus
One sunny July afternoon in 2023, we decided to try the hop-on hop-off bus for the first time. Exciting, right? We arrived around 5 pm at the starting station and were a bit worried about the crowd.
To make sure we snagged seats, we split up and entered through the two doors. Alice, my wife, went up first and secured two seats in the middle of the bus. We couldn’t get the front rows, but the left side turned out to be a great second choice, as there’s no one directly in front.
The day was perfect—partly cloudy and not too hot, even at that hour. The cool breeze from the bus made the journey surprisingly enjoyable. While we’ve explored most of Brașov’s incredible spots, seeing them from different angles was a whole new experience. The city appeared even more beautiful from up there.
We had a blast during the trip, snapping countless pictures and promising ourselves to do it again, maybe next year if not in 2023.
Here are our tips for a smooth ride:
Aim to arrive 15 minutes before departure to purchase your ticket (or use the 24pay app).
Be prepared for a bit of squeezing when you board.
Quick reflexes help you grab those top seats.
If you’re with someone, split up and use separate doors to increase your chances of finding seats.
Keep water handy, as the journey lasts an hour.
In summary, the Brașov Hop-On Hop-Off sightseeing bus offers convenient ticket options and runs from June to October on a scenic one-hour route with key stops. Enjoy a smooth ride with our helpful tips and explore Brașov’s beauty from a unique perspective. Our personal adventure onboard was delightful, and we’re already planning our next trip!
